Young shutterbugs take steps to match the pros

Click and snap, young photographers hone their skills after school. Elementary schoolers attend the Photography ASA every Thursday in Ms. Zhu’s class and learn how to take different styles of images with their own devices. Students capture meaningful photos of various objects with their own technology.

A Photo Op for DIS Media and Elderly in Need

Photos are typically hung up for commemoration at one’s funeral. It is commonplace to hire professional photographers for such services in Korean culture. Unfortunately, there are segments of the population in nursing homes who cannot take their portrait photos prior to their funeral, mostly because they either can’t afford the pictures or don’t have family members who can arrange professional photography for them. To support these people in need, Lewis in grade 10 established a new lunch club - the Yang-ro-won Photo Service Club.

Yearbook-photo season has arrived as DIS marches through the second semester. Amidst the spread of the Omicron variant, extra measures have been implemented to make the memoir of the 2022-2023 school year more enjoyable, and ensure safety for staff and students during the photoshoot.
