The DIS music and art department combined forces to celebrate a successful school year on May 30th with the middle and high school Spring Fine Arts Festival. Excited audiences packed the lively Jetnasium to enjoy a night of grand symphonies on the elevated stage and intricate student exhibitions. Much-missed DIS graduates made a surprise appearance at the event and caught up with peers and teachers alike. The art department’s annual fashion show, the Bloom, also returned with a brand new theme - eras of spring. Advisors Mr.Gum and Mr.Hutchings wrapped up the long night with tearful goodbyes to the 2024 seniors and applauded their hard work and diligence. Audiences returned home with fond memories to reminisce over the summer.
Eighth-grader Jason McAteer successfully avoids getting his flag stolen by an opponent player. Being the ace of the team, McAteer leads his team to victory.

Games galore, food to explore, middle school party encore

Middle school students took a breather from academics in the spring party this past April 19th. Hosted by the Middle School Student Council (MSSC), the social took place throughout the school including the Jetnasium, outer fields, and the dorm. The celebration began when all participants gathered in the futsal field to divide into teams. 
Stella Lee in seventh grade, the lead vocalist of her band, extends an inviting hand as if to urge the audience to join in along the fun. The secondary student body claps and whistles in response.

Season two assembly showcases student talent and honorable achievements

Amidst the early morning bustle, elementary classrooms buzzed with excitement as young minds poured into the Jetnasium for the first spring assembly in many years on March 28. Secondary students waited for their turn until fourth period. Throughout both events, students and teachers took center stage to showcase their achievements over the second season of the year.

Middle and High School Students Cap Off the Year with the Spring Fine Arts Festival

DIS hosted the Middle/High School Spring Fine Arts Festival to commemorate the end of the year. For this event, students in art and music classes prepared performances and displayed the projects that they perfected during second semester. Mr. Hutchings and Mr. Gum organized the event together, each in charge of the music and art departments respectively.
