Dear Jimin, Long time reader, first time writer. I was wondering: How do I get my students to practice their instruments more? I'm really considering making daily playing quizzes, just every day, quiz quiz quiz quiz quiz, grade grade grade grade. You know, ignore making music, just grade grade grade. What are your thoughts? Sincerely, Anonymous Badger

Dear Jimin: I Ruminate About Rumors

Jimin Shin and Jodie Lee February 2, 2023
Dear Jimin, I am a high schooler, and I am facing hardships in school life. Recently a girl in our grade saw me with a game and misunderstood that it was a weird anime, and then started to believe that I am a crazy person who likes 2D anime characters. I wanted to convince them that I didn’t have a taste for anime characters, but it became a rumor that got spread around my entire grade. What should I do to recover my reputation? From Anonymous

Dear Jimin: Worried Sick Senior

Jimin Shin, Jodie Lee, and Elizabeth Ryu December 8, 2022
Dear Jimin,  Hmm… I am about to head to college soon, but I'm not sure if I'm ready. I'm basically leaving my family, my old way of life, home, school, and many of my friends to get plopped into a new environment so far away. I'm worried if I can handle it and I am wondering how to cope with missing my loved ones. The future is so unsure and scary. There is supposed to be so much excitement but there is so much riding on me and so many people to disappoint that I feel like it overshadows the excitement. Any advice? Sincerely, Leo

Dear Jimin: Sincerely, a Sincere Senior

Jimin Shin, Jodie Lee, Elizabeth Ryu, and Catherine Park October 26, 2022
Hey Jimin, My name is Betty, and I’m a high school senior! Ever since I became a senior, I have been thinking about how to make my senior year more memorable. When I became a freshman at DIS, I was so excited about all the new possibilities that high school would present. But COVID happened, and it basically rigged my dream high school life!  Now that the COVID regulations are looser, I want to finally carry out my dream high school life and have a memorable year! The only problem is I don’t have enough ideas to do so. If you have ideas about things to do to make the year more memorable, that’d be awesome! Thank you for helping me out. Best, Betty
