[Photos] High school boys’ volleyball team wraps the season with its best results in DIS history

The high school boys’ volleyball team gathers alongside Coach Willette, Coach Marchan, and senior managers Chloe Cho and Jenny Lee. Their efforts and determination wrapped the season with two silvers and two golds finishes – marking the most successful season in DIS athletics.

The varsity and junior varsity boys’ volleyball team concluded their season with top placements in the SKAIS (South Korea Association of International Schools) and KISAC (Korean International Schools Activities Conference) tournaments. Varsity kick-started the season with a friendly win against the DMHS (Daegu Middle High School) at the Jetnasium on Sept. 16, following up with a sore loss in the rematch at the base on Oct. 21. 

Rebuilding from their mistakes, varsity and JV traveled to Jeju for the KISAC tournament on Oct. 23-25, where both crews earned silver for the first time in DIS athletics. They carried on their momentum to the SKAIS tourney on Nov. 3, earning first place in both divisions.

These standout performances highlighted the team’s growth and dedication, setting a foundation for the season ahead.

Olya Karpenko, Social Media Manager and Photographer
Olya Karpenko starts her second year with the Jets Flyover. In her junior year, she contributed as an illustrator, but now she expands her skills to take on the role of social media manager. Through a strong passion for art, design, photography, and editing, Olya brings a creative eye to every project she takes on. Outside of school, she enjoys music, TV, and of course, catching up on sleep.
