The newsroom bustles with chatter as the Flyover Staff taps away on their keyboard and flurries through the yearbook to find names. Illustrators concentrate, meticulously coloring their illustrations. As the year comes to an end, the press chews over a series of mind-boggling questions and reflects on their journey with the Jets Flyover.
Bonnie, Section Editor

Q: Would you rather write 100 captions or one opinion article?
- I would rather write an opinion article because as an opinion editor, I genuinely enjoy the category. Most of the time, I struggle a lot with writing captions…so one opinion article is a piece of cake compared to writing 100 captions for me.
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or write a 1200 word article?
- I would rather pay for three Snack Fridays because even if I have to spend my money on them, I would still enjoy picking out the snacks…and I like eating. One 1200 word article sounds like too much for me. It would take a lot of time.
Q: If you were an illustrator what would you draw first?
- I’m honestly really bad at drawing, so I would just be funny and draw unrealistic caricatures of my friends and teachers.
Q: What is your proudest piece for the Jets Flyover?
- I really like my opinion article on high school students’ rights to talk about politics and their political freedom because I actually got real-world interviews from people actually involved in this, and it provided a chance for me to think and reflect about my own rights as a high schooler in Korea. It was also my first Best of Sno!
Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- Honestly, the day before semester one ended. Yes, we were very busy and struggled to get many writers to the finish line, but Leanne and I were calling and she helped me edit so many articles. It was hard, but I really enjoyed truly being able to help all the writers. I think I also learned a lot from Leanne during this time. (Annie Cho: Yebon, what about me? Me too, righttt?)
Annie Cho, Managing Editor

Q: Would you rather write 100 captions or one opinion article?
- I think probably 100 captions because I’ve never written an opinion article before.
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or write a 1200 word article?
- Definitely a 1200 word article because our class this year is really big, so buying 30ish people snacks three times is quite tough.
Q: If you were an illustrator what would you draw first?
- I’m really bad at drawing, but I think I would just start off with an illustration for an A&E article…maybe a poll or Tailspin too.
Q: What is your proudest piece for the Jets Flyover?
- I don’t remember what I wrote because I wrote too many articles, but some of the sports articles last year were pretty good…I looked at basically all of them…and almost all of the news articles were also great. So…most sports and every news article from last year!
Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- I think it was really fun when some of the editors got together to edit the Staff Manual over the summer although we had to come to school before our break ended. It was pretty fun hanging out. I also ended up buying everyone Gong Cha…although nobody paid me back. *laugh* It was fun.
Sophia, Section Editor

Q: Would you rather write 100 captions or one opinion article?
- One opinion article because I’m pretty bad at writing captions. I honestly never tried writing an opinion article, but I think I’ll be able to pull it off.
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or write a 1200 word article?
- 1200 word article. If it’s about something I’m really passionate about, like anime or pokemon, I think I could write that much — or even longer to be honest.
Q: If you were an illustrator what would you draw first?
- I think I would draw something related to anime or pokemon…again *laugh* I think that would be pretty fun.
Q: What is your proudest piece for the Jets Flyover?
- I think Kyara’s article about gender stereotypes because I helped her get some of the interviews and I edited and published it as well. I was basically there from start to finish.
Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- Oh! When we were making the Staff Manual, Annie bought us Gong Cha and nobody paid her back.
Alex, Managing Editor

Q: Would you rather write 100 captions or one opinion article?
- Honestly, I would write 100 captions because I’ve already written 200+ captions last year, so 100 captions don’t feel like a burden.
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or write a 1200 word article?
- A 1200 word article because I’ve never written a long article, and I want to try to feel what it’s like to write a long article.
Q: If you were an illustrator what would you draw first?
- I want to try writing a sports satire article and make Mr. Lipsky laugh.
Q: What is your proudest piece for the Jets Flyover?
- My Yips article because I won Best of Sno and 2025 Stories of the Year with it. It was also my first “real” article, interviewing actual players outside of school.
Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- I really enjoyed recording reels with CJ and Oliver…especially the one where I carried CJ like a baby.
Leanne, Editor-in-Chief

Q: Would you rather write 100 captions or one opinion article?
- I would rather write 100 captions because I think it’ll take less time.
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or write a 1200 word article?
- Write a 1200 word article. All of the articles I write are over 1200 words, so I don’t think it makes a difference. And I’m saving up for college, so three Snack Fridays is tough.
Q: If you were an illustrator what would you draw first?
- I would draw a comic that roasts Alex’s bad grammar. For example, writing “in my nerves” instead of “nervous.”
Q: What is your proudest piece for the Jets Flyover?
- I think it will probably be the deep fake article I worked on with Sally.
Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- Probably teasing Alex about his bad grammar *laugh*
Jack, Illustrator

Q: Would you rather draw three illustrations or one comic?
- One comic…actually…let me think…I’d rather draw three illustrations because I have to think of a story idea for a comic, but for illustrations, I get orders, so I don’t have to think of what to draw.
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or draw a comic and two illustrations?
- Three Snack Fridays. I have a lot of money. Mmm yeah. I’m actually rich.
Q: If you were a writer what would you write about first?
- I want to write a movie review. I really like Parasite — I’ve watched it so many times.
Q: What is your proudest piece for the Jets Flyover?
- Andy’s Demon Slayer illustration for sure. I spent like 4 hours on it.
Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- Snack Friday. Of course. I love the chocolate 꼬북칩 (Turtle Chip).
Agnew, Writer

Q: Would you rather write 100 captions or one opinion article?
- I’d rather write one opinion article because I take a lot of time just writing one caption. It takes a lot of mental labor.
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or write a 1200 word article?
- 1200 word article because I’ve written them before, and three Snack Fridays sound harsh.
Q: If you were an illustrator what would you draw first?
- I would make a crossword puzzle because I’ve always wanted to try to create one about something related to art or our journalism class.
Q: What is your proudest piece for the Jets Flyover?
- I would say my Gen Z dadaism article because I spent the most time on that, and it was one of my strongest articles.
Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- I think taking basketball photos was pretty fun. There were other staff members like Kelly, so it was enjoyable taking photos together.
Ellen, Illustrator

Q: Would you rather draw three illustrations or one comic?
- Three illustrations because comics require creativity, and it takes me time to produce something creative. It’s quicker to draw three illustrations.
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or draw a comic and two illustrations?
- I would pay for three Snack Fridays because I like Snack Fridays. If I pay, I can choose the snacks, so that’s good.
Q: If you were a writer what would you write about first?
- I want to try writing a sports article. Maybe something about tryouts if they take place…or a KISAC article where a team earned medals. I think that would be really cool.
Q: What is your proudest piece for the Jets Flyover?
- One thing that I’m proud of is an illustration for an article by Jerome a long time ago about former president Yoon. I think the drawing was pretty neat.
Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- Snack Fridays!
Olya, Social Media Manager

Q: Would you rather make three posts or one reel?
- I would rather make three posts because they’re easier and I like to make them more than reels.
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or create three reels?
- Three Snack Fridays because I’m already doing a lot, and I don’t want to make even more content.
Q: If you were a writer what would you write about first?
- I think I’d like to write about sports…maybe volleyball because I have experience playing it and I really enjoy volleyball. And I like the girls’ team.
Q: What is your proudest piece for the Jets Flyover?
- Maybe my very first post. I was working on it with Kate last year, and I didn’t know what to do, so she taught me really kindly. When she uploaded it on the Jets Flyover account, I was so proud of my design and was like “Yay! My post is on Insta!”
Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- Snack Fridays. I really liked our Halloween Snack Friday — especially the chocolate mushroom treats.
CJ, Section Editor

Q: Would you rather write 100 captions or one opinion article?
- One opinion article because captions are so hard to write. It just takes so much time and last time I had to write captions…It took too long.
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or write a 1200 word article?
- Pay for three Snack Fridays because writing is…actually a 1200 word article because 1200 is not that bad. Three Snack Fridays would be so expensive.
Q: If you were an illustrator what would you draw first?
- I don’t know…what did other people say? Oh, I’ll also roast Alex about his grammar in a comic.
Q: What is your proudest piece for the Jets Flyover?
- I think the impeachment protest article I wrote a long time ago because it was when I actually started enjoying journalism.
Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- Snack Friday. I love the dipping nachos.
Roy, Illustrator

Q: Would you rather draw three illustrations or one comic?
- Three illustrations because comics require creative thinking but I can just draw what writers request for illustrations.
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or draw a comic and two illustrations?
- Pay for three Snack Fridays. I like the Crown Sando snack…strawberry flavor.
Q: If you were a writer what would you write about first?
- Mmm….I don’t want to write…
Q: What is your proudest piece for the Jets Flyover?
- My illustration for Ruby’s Conan Gray article. I really liked my style in that drawing. I spent three hours on it.
Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- Snack Friday – I really liked Chirayu’s Snack Friday. It was really unique. He only brought Poka-chips.
Jio, Writer

Q: Would you rather write 100 captions or one opinion article?
- I’d rather write one opinion article because I don’t think I’ve ever tried writing one, and if I write about a topic I’m very passionate about, I think it would be really fun. And captions aren’t my strong suit. *laugh*
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or write a 1200 word article?
- I’ll pay for three Snack Fridays. I mean, I get to enjoy it with my friends and…I don’t think I need to buy thatttt much. There’s so much pressure involved with writing an article.
Q: If you were an illustrator what would you draw first?
- I actually want to try drawing a Spot the Difference. I think that would be really fun. I think it’s really fun when people draw their friends having fun, so I think I would want to do that.
Q: What is your proudest piece for the Jets Flyover?
- I think probably my Alchemised book review because I really enjoyed the book and am super proud of the review. Writing it was really really fun.
Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- I think my journey with Jets Flyover as a whole! I used to write one or two articles a year as a middle schooler, but I write a lot more now. I think seeing my growth with the Jets Flyover is really cool.
Oliver, Web Director

Q: Would you rather write 100 captions or one opinion article?
- 100 captions…if you think about it, 100 captions only require two sentences per captions, so you only have to write 200 sentences. But for an opinion article, you probably have to write more than 200 sentences. So! Mathematically, it’s more efficient and mentally healthier.
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or write a 1200 word article?
- Three Snack Fridays. A 1200 word article is basically a book, so I would just pay for three Snack Fridays.
Q: If you were an illustrator what would you draw first?
- I would draw a comic because comics probably attract the most viewers, and I think it’ll be interesting. I want to involve teachers in my comic because I think that’ll make it really fun.
Q: What is your proudest piece for the Jets Flyover?
- I guess the website design because as the new Web Director, I had a chance to renovate a lot of the pages for the Jets Flyover. I’m proud of how it turned out.
Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- Every week, Sophie and other media directors filmed a video of me and other staff members, and I enjoyed seeing a lot of likes on the videos. It felt like people were liking me, you know? *laugh*
Apple, Section Editor

Q: Would you rather write 100 captions or one opinion article?
- One opinion article! I’ve never written an opinion article before, so I’d love to try. I’m not sure what I would write about though…
Q: Would you rather pay for three Snack Fridays or write a 1200 word article?
- A 1200 word article for sure…three Snack Fridays would cost a lotttt. Also, it would be fun to write a quality feature over 1200 words with lots of interviews.

- I would draw an illustration for a movie review. I think I’d enjoy drawing posters and action scenes!

Q: What is your favorite memory with the Jets Flyover?
- Definitely lunch with the staff after our summer sessions. This year we had malatang together!
