Elementary students attended the elementary school STEM Fair at the cafeteria on Friday, Nov. 13. One week later, at the Jetnasium, middle and high school students participated in the STEM Fair during school hours on Nov. 21. Science enthusiasts across all grade levels filled the space with creative ideas, experiments, and curiosity in action.

Jasmine Lee, Writer

Jasmine Lee joins the newsroom for her final year of high school. She spent three and a half long years in Shanghai because of her father’s job. Not a big fan of the city, she still misses the friends she made in China. Senior year is not Jasmine’s first foray in the media. She worked on the school broadcasting club at her middle school in Seoul, in a program akin to JBS. And in Shanghai, Jasmine wrote school news at her former campus, SMIC. In the past, Jasmine was fluent in Chinese, but now she claims her proficiency dropped. Still, she steps up to the challenge and joins AP Chinese with Mr. Zhao.

Ellen Cho, Illustrator

Ellen Cho leaps into her 3rd year of high school, with a drive to strive into diverse fields. She explores art, media, and more in her daily schedule. This year, she steps up her photography game as a member of the yearbook staff. Open to new experiences, Ellen loves to learn about the humanities. Through illustrations and photojournalism on the Flyover, Ellen hopes to bring her one-of-a-kind perspective to DIS and expand the vision of our readers.

Roy Kim, Photographer and Illustrator

Roy Kim joins the Jets Flyover staff for the first time with a camera and stylus, ready to capture photos and create illustrations. As a veteran in the visual arts department and a photography enthusiast, he aims to add his spark to DIS. With a passion for creativity, he loves to build models, edit photos, and play the oboe. During the winter, Roy enjoys hitting the ski slopes followed by a hot chocolate in the lodge.

Annie Cho, Managing Editor

Annie returns for her 3rd year on the Flyover staff as a section editor. As a junior she participates in various sports, extracurriculars, and Lunch Clubs. As an enthusiastic forensics student, she leads Science National Honor Society, MUN Club, Peer Tutoring Club, and Debate Club. In her free time, she enjoys books, TV shows, and shooting hoops with her friends. This year she hopes to share deeper and more investigative stories with the DIS community.

Oliver Park, Web Director

Oliver Park enters his fifth year on the staff for his junior year. He covers technology, especially Apple, since 7th Grade. A big shift in his life, Oliver recently tossed his iPhone for an Android. Alongside his love for tech, he is an avid Boston sports fan, always on the verge of rage-quitting every season. This year, Oliver hopes to elevate his game and write more opinionated pieces on tech.

Noah Lee, Photographer

Senior Noah Lee enters his first year on the yearbook staff. He specializes in capturing funny and unforgettable moments through photography, and aims to bring a fresh perspective to the yearbook. Outside of school, Noah spends most of his time on the basketball court, where he finds both excitement and inspiration in the game. When not on the court or behind the camera, he enjoys the Samsung Lions KBO team and baseball video games.

Beatrice Lee, Photographer

Beatrice serves as a photographer and designer for the yearbook. She loves capturing moments that tell a story. She turns special moments into creative layouts that bring each page to life. Beatrice joined the staff because she enjoys the combo of photography and storytelling, and she takes pride in the help she provides other staff members. The yearbook serves as something people will treasure for years, and Beatrice treasures that. Outside of school, she spends her time listening to music, taking photos, and dancing.
