Budding scientists explore the wonders of STEM

Fifth graders Logan Nam, David Hur, and Brayden Kim proudly showcase their project on the effects of video games on mood and personality. They aim to shine with a first place in their final year of elementary school.

Third, fourth, and fifth graders gathered in the Jetnasium to share their creative solutions to thought-provoking problems at the STEM Fair on Nov. 11. The youngest participants designed towers as they aimed to build the tallest structure possible with straws, while the fourth graders crafted catapults to tackle force and motion. Meanwhile, the fifth graders crafted their original projects and engaged the audience with their innovative ideas.

Annie returns for her 3rd year on the Flyover staff as a section editor. As a junior she participates in various sports, extracurriculars, and Lunch Clubs. As an enthusiastic forensics student, she leads Science National Honor Society, MUN Club, Peer Tutoring Club, and Debate Club. In her free time, she enjoys books, TV shows, and shooting hoops with her friends. This year she hopes to share deeper and more investigative stories with the DIS community.

Esther, a bright-eyed bushy-tailed photographer, learned the art and skill of photojournalism just this year. Her passion for capturing moments and storytelling brought her to the DIS media team. Esther spends her time on the Competitive Debate Team and editing videos for the Jet Stream. She likes to argue with others with precision logic. You can find Esther filming interviews and Shorts for DISTV. In her spare time, she enjoys crochet, crafts, and music.

Jenny Lee
Jenny Lee, Broadcast Journalist and Photographer
Jenny Lee, a dedicated junior at DIS, joins the yearbook team with excitement this year. Her involvement goes beyond the yearbook, as she continues to create engaging content for Jet Stream. This year, Jenny is particularly eager to attend a variety of events to further develop her photography skills. She also finds joy in dancing with the Illusion Dance Team and playing the flute, both of which enhance her creativity and contribute to her well-rounded approach to her work. With her diverse talents and genuine enthusiasm, Jenny is set to excel in all her creative projects.

Chloe Cho, a junior at DIS, expands her creativity as a newcomer of the Yearbook Staff and a veteran of the Jet Stream. She hopes to create fun videos and capture candid photos of the DIS community. With a keen eye and storytelling talent, she aims to create the best yearbook in DIS history.
