Trick or treat! All students, teachers, and staff members dressed up in their costumes to enjoy the spooky day of Halloween on Oct 31. The day ended with a cute elementary school parade and the annual group photo in front of the cafeteria.
Fourth-graders get comfy in their classroom until their teacher calls them back to attention.

To start off the Spirit Week, the DIS community celebrated Pajama Day on Oct. 30. Students arrived at school straight from bed as they filled the campus with lively sleepiness.

On May 26th, the 8th graders had their Rising Up Ceremony at the Jetnasium. The students waited in anticipation with smiles on their faces as Mr. Jolly handed out their graduation certificates one by one. After listening to a few speeches from proud teachers and admin, and posing for a picture with teachers and their families, the rising freshmen officially put an end to their junior high years.

[Photos] Glad to be a Grad! Kindergarten Students Rise-up to First Grade

May is the month of moving on and preparing for a new chapter of your life. The Kindergarten Rising-up Ceremony took place on May 24th. The rising elementary students got to experience their first graduation in the gym, where they received their first certificates. Once the ceremony was over, the ecstatic kindergarten graduates were able to take photos with proud parents. Afterward, the students and their parents celebrated the rest of their day with refreshing drinks from the Snack Shack.

[Photos] Elementary Class of ’22 is Off to a New Start

On May 25th, the fifth graders held a rising-up ceremony in the Jetnasium. With mixed feelings of both anticipation and a slight worry for their upcoming life as middle schoolers, our eager elementary graduates stood in front of their proud parents, peers, and admin as they waited to receive their diplomas. A few firm handshakes from Mr.Jolly and several photos later, the once fifth graders officially entered middle school, marking a new beginning in their lives and DIS alike.

STEM Takes Root

The DIS STEM fair was a surefire success. The event took place on November 5th, and there were over 75 participants in middle and high school. The event saw great turnout by in-school visitors, and amongst the crowd were judges of all demographics: 11th and 12th graders, school staff, and teachers. The contest’s participants did intense, hands-on research in the fields of Psychology/Sociology, Physics/Astronomy, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Computer/Engineering, and finally, Mathematics.

DIS Prom Committee Makes its Debut

DIS is finally tackling the challenge of hosting a memorable prom head-on, with a brand-new prom committee. "We just want our students to be able to experience [prom] too… This year has been very hard. We would like to try and have as many positive memories as possible.”
