In the bottom of the ninth inning, bases loaded in a 5-5 game, in walks the ace closer. First throw, he strikes in a 98-mile-per-hour four-seam fastball. Fans cheer, but the pitcher pales as the pressure mounts. On the next pitch, a wild throw above the batter brings the runner home and ends the game.
Students, student coaches, teachers, and parents look forward to next year's DIS volleyball cup. Laughter fills the gym as the camera shutters as the crowd goes back home, satisfied with the event.

Elementary athletes serve up some fun

Anticipation set the stage as parents, teachers, and elementary volleyballists poured into the Jetnasium for the first Volleyball Cup. With fervent energy in the air, the event brought the community together and celebrated everyone for their teamwork with special prizes on March 12.

Meet the four square fanatics

“Serve!” The lead player throws the ball to the person in the “King” square. With brilliant saves, dramatic bounces, and spin techniques, the hits go back and forth. The heated round continues until a player strikes the ball out. After a triumphant cry of victory and some disappointed groans of defeat, the game moves on to the next round. Check out the DIS Four Square fanatics; a squad of spikers that forge friendships and create rivalries on the court.

[Photos] DIS Returns to the Before Times with Family Fun Night

Members of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) arranged an evening of fun and games for all elementary students and their families on Friday, October 7th. The Jetnasium and outdoor sports fields hosted the action. Families rotated from station to station, each sporting a unique activity, eager for a chance to compete against and with their parents. With over 150 participants in attendance, the event offered amusement for those of all ages.
