Performers from 14 international schools across Korea assembled at Chadwick International School for the Korean International Music Educators Association (KIMEA) on Jan. 26. 24 DIS students selected through blind auditions received assignments into three ensembles based on skill level: Blue, Red, and Gold.
Upon arrival, students joined their designated bands and rehearsed together, blending into unified melodies. After a full day of inspirational performances, participants departed with lasting memories and broadened musical horizons.
Eighth graders Hailey Lee and Gia Kim recharge through lighthearted banter. Their shared laughter provides a brief but wholesome energy.

The KIMEA festival was very fun and I really liked to play with people that were not our school. I was able to make new friends and socialize with people from other schools. (The lunch was not good.)

Great job all middle schoolers who participated in the KIMEA Honor Festival. It looks like they all did a good job and had fun! I hope the 6th and 7th graders make it next year as well! Congratulations!

I went to the KIMEA honor band as a gold band. I had a really great time playing with students from other schools, and also with my friends. I hope I am able to get this opportunity next year too!

Great job, Jets! Congratulations for your amazing performance in this year’s KIMEA festival. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to be accepted in the band, but I hope I can also participate one day!
