The High School Student Council (HSSC) alongside advisor and secondary music teacher Mr. Hutchings hosted a winter party for freshmen through seniors on Nov. 26. The event successfully ushered in the first festival of the year, bringing together students across grades for games, food, and camaraderie.
The afternoon unfolded with a variety of grade-level competitions, including the chopstick bean game, fill-the-bucket challenge, tug of war, tile flipping, and a relay race. Juniors claimed first place, earning a well-deserved prize prepared by the HSSC. Aiden Huh dominated each station. “Overall it was a very fun event. I felt an adrenaline rush after winning the final race against the seniors. I’m very excited for the prize from HSSC”, Huh said.
After the activities, participants helped themselves to a selection of food, including tteokbokki, pizza, chicken and pork ribs, accompanied by juice and soft drinks.
The celebration then transitioned to the winter social at the Jetnasium, where students freely explored an array of entertainment booths including karaoke, hot chocolate and cookie making, board games and a photo zone. As the night wrapped up, everyone circled the dorm patio bonfire to roast marshmallows, enjoy music and share conversation.
Despite the chilly weather, the winter party brought people together and lifted school spirit. With the night wrapped up, high schoolers look forward to more student council sponsored activities in second semester.
