3. Best Browser: Orion by Kagi
Orion delivers a fast, privacy-focused browsing experience built on Apple’s WebKit, an open-source web engine. Unlike most modern browsers, it isn’t Chromium-based, yet it natively supports both Chrome and Firefox extensions. This balance between performance, privacy, and flexibility makes it a standout choice.
4. Best App Design of 2025: (Not Boring) Camera
While the built-in Camera app offers interesting tricks and plenty of camera apps, I chose (Not Boring) Camera. The app includes advanced features without the use of AI, taking advantage of Apple’s ProRaw (the highest camera format) options. The app’s 3D interface and sounds make it feel like you’re holding an actual DSLR camera.
5. Best App of 2025: Opal
Last year, I averaged five hours of screen time, an hour and a half being on Instagram and YouTube. I discovered an app called Opal that bricks apps without an ignore option. With its motivational and inspirational prompts, it made me think twice before actually opening an app. This feature dramatically reduced my screen time to three hours, with less than ten minutes on social media.
