The 2024 season kicked off with dozens of surprising headlines – Mercedes’ champion and seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari in 2025, legendary aerodynamicist Adrian Newey’s Red Bull departure, sprinkled with mid-season driver drops and maiden victories. Though the first half of the season started with the reigning champion Max Verstappen’s triumphs, the season soon loaded with other successes besides Red Bull.
As a McLaren fan, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix marked the epitome of their glory. Another victory added to the trophy cabinet, Lando Norris made his fourth win securing the constructors championship for his team. Though Oscar Piastri, his teammate and my favorite, finished a crucial 10th place after a first-lap contact with Verstappen, the race served as an excellent finale for the season.
