DIS leads the way with clean sweep at SKAIS STEM Fair

A crew of seventh-graders celebrate their success at the STEM fair, showcasing their innovative projects and demonstrating their teamwork and creativity.

Elementary, middle, and high schoolers gathered to present their projects at DIS for the SKAIS STEM fair on Nov 23. Students captivated the attention of their judges with their deep analysis of biology, chemistry, physics, computer/engineering, environmental/plant science, physics and astronomy, math, and psychology. In total, they won 24 awards in a wide range of categories.

Annie returns for her 3rd year on the Flyover staff as a section editor. As a junior she participates in various sports, extracurriculars, and Lunch Clubs. As an enthusiastic forensics student, she leads Science National Honor Society, MUN Club, Peer Tutoring Club, and Debate Club. In her free time, she enjoys books, TV shows, and shooting hoops with her friends. This year she hopes to share deeper and more investigative stories with the DIS community.

A passionate junior, Lily Lee joins the Flyover family for the first time. As she watches the clock tick and reflects on whether or not her name will make a sports banner in the Jetnasium before graduation, she at least has journalism to fall back on to leave her mark before her departure. Nonetheless, she makes huge contributions to the school as the leader of the LGBTQ+ Organization for Various Ethnicities, Daegu Student Animal Association, National Arts Honor Society, and Science National Honor Society. Her love for new challenges is obvious as she continually strives to be the best version of herself. She takes great pride in her work ethic and her obviously tall stature.
