DIS hosted the annual Daegu World Thinking Day in the Jetnasium on Saturday, March 9. DIS, Camp Walker, and Korea Girl Scout troops came together to meet one another, create meaningful friendships, share cherished traditions, and empower girls and young women in the community.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed the day. The audience gasped and giggled at “Drama Girls,” an innovative interpretation of the hit 2004 film “Mean Girls,” performed by the DIS theater troupe. Almost a hundred spectators packed the venue. “They did a wonderful job playing the different roles and trying to spread the message of kindness and friendship by the end of the play. Then the magic came alive,” said drama club advisor Ms. Nagy.
Attendees also participated in various STEM-related and creative activity stations. They competed in an outdoor scavenger hunt, played cooperative team games, and visited the book fair.
The scouts wrapped up the event with a closing circle, a song, and a group photo. The ceremonies brought the girls together, and everyone went home with newly found connections and a greater sense of community and empowerment.
