[Photos] Elementary assembly closes the year with talent, cheers and celebration

The Mini Jets show off their hard-earned mastery. Their dynamic moves amaze everyone in the audience – not only the fellow students but also teachers and parents.

The elementary Jets wrapped up the year with a talent showcase on May 19. The event opened with performances by the Mini Jets, a reenactment of “콩쥐팥쥐 (Kongjwi and Patjwi)” by the Drama Club and the Elementary Dance Team’s rendition of “Shut Up and Dance” and “Soccer” by KidzBop. A series of recognitions for the student council, girls’ scouts and elementary basketball teams followed. The elementary rock band decorated the finale with music to vibe to.

Annie Cho, Section Editor

Annie returns for her 3rd year on the Flyover staff as a section editor. As a junior she participates in various sports, extracurriculars, and Lunch Clubs. As an enthusiastic forensics student, she leads Science National Honor Society, MUN Club, Peer Tutoring Club, and Debate Club. In her free time, she enjoys books, TV shows, and shooting hoops with her friends. This year she hopes to share deeper and more investigative stories with the DIS community.

Sophia Bae, Writer and Illustrator

As a writer and illustrator, Sophia spends most of their free time drawing and listening to music. Additionally, their involvement in LOVE club leadership showcases their enthusiasm to foster diversity and inclusivity in the community. They love to explore multiple perspectives on controversial issues, and they aim to raise awareness of them with contributions to the Jets Flyover.

Ethan Rossmeisl, Writer

From Varsity Basketball to Model United Nations, Ethan Rossmeisl displays proficiency in anything he sets his sights on. For a decade, with his wide range of talents, Ethan dominated all grounds. He portrayed Superman. Now, he adopts the alter ego of Clark Kent – a writer for the Jets Flyover. Chess club president and all-star medalist in KISAC, Ethan checkmates each article with brilliant sacrifices and strategies marked through each sentence. His ubiquity and endurance in the league of journalists give him an upper hand in updating the DIS community light-speed.

Brian Cho, Broadcast Journalist and Photographer

Brian Cho, a beginner broadcast journalist and also a photographer, enters his first foray into video production and yearbook design. Brian has a strong interest in digital design. Additionally, influenced by the reputation of the Yearbook team, he has joined and is currently an active member of the DIS Yearbook team. As the Head of Designer in HOSA and the Historian/Webmaster for NAHS, Brian developed a keen interest in art and design.
