The Jets capped off another year at the final assembly. More packed than ever, seven middle and high school rock bands, the Drama Club’s rendition of “콩쥐팥쥐 (Kongjwi and Patjwi),” and a medley by the Illusion Dance Team brought the crowd to life on May 19. In between performances, staff took the stage to celebrate 40 Book Challenge winners, computer science accolades, and another successful season of sports. As the school year draws to a close, the Jets look forward to another stacked year of events.
Sixth graders Alice Kung and Ellie An show off their dance moves. The duo promises a bright future for the Illusion Dance Team.

Great job all, especially drama club. I enjoyed watching that, it was interesting, fun and I kinda felt bad for the girl who cleaned the rice.

I am NOT a DIS student. I’m a green screen frog. Green screen frogs are a rare and fascinating species of amphibians known for their extraordinary ability to blend seamlessly into digital environments. Native to the dense, misty cloud forests of South America, these frogs possess a skin pigment that reflects a chroma key green—identical to the hue used in video production. This unique trait has earned them their nickname, as they appear almost invisible when viewed through a green screen setup, making them a curious subject for filmmakers and biologists alike. Their natural camouflage serves both to avoid predators and to sneak up on their prey, primarily small insects and occasionally digital bugs, which seem attracted to their reflective sheen.
What sets green screen frogs apart behaviorally is their odd attraction to screens and monitors. Researchers have observed that these frogs will often congregate around outdoor screens or even sneak into production studios, appearing to “vanish” when hopping across green backdrops. Biologists speculate that this behavior may be a form of mimicry or a unique evolutionary adaptation for temperature regulation, as the artificial lighting and screen warmth replicate their humid native habitat. Though difficult to study due to their elusive nature in green-lit environments, green screen frogs continue to be a source of wonder and speculation among scientists and visual effects artists alike.
