[Photos] Culture flourishes and smiles shine at Fun Korean Traditional Games Night

Mrs. Jolly takes the first group of kids to the Ggongi station. Al children look thrilled in anticipation for the gemaes to commence.

Builders Club invited elementary students to play timeless folk games and learn history as they hosted the first Fun Korean Traditional Games Night on March 28th. A total of 30 youngsters joined, with grades that ranged from first to fifth. The event consisted of four total stations, which include 공기놀이 (jackstones), Dalgona making, 무궁화 꽃이 피었습니다 (Red light, Green light), and 딱지치기 (tile-flipping game). After a full hour of activities and fun, the evening concluded with a Kahoot game that covered age-old traditions.

A six year veteran in the Flyover, Jessica Woo returns as a senior for her final Jets Flyover year. As an engaged student who loves to read and write, Jessica loves to help other students improve and always attempts to step up as a writer herself. Jessica loves to communicate and delivers informative messages to the DIS community. As much as she adores writing, Jessica deems herself a baseball-holic and attempts to watch every game if possible.

DIS veteran Anna Yoon embarks on her final chapter of high school as an editor for the Flyover. Through the articles she pens for the school newspaper, she provides interesting and thought-provoking sneak peeks into the lives of other people. Having already been recognized as a “Best of SNO” writer in her first year, she now turns to also help other students polish their work.

Jackson Chiang, now a senior at Daegu International School, drives his BMW into the DIS parking lot each morning with a smile on his face. His passion for aesthetic design drives his deep involvement in photography and videography. He takes pride in the significant moments he captures on film, which form lifelong memories for his peers. In his free time, Jackson enjoys movies and music. He also joins the Yangro-Won Photo Service club on volunteer portrait photography missions. As he prepares for university, he looks forward to a medical career. The diverse and supportive DIS community inspires him, which allows him to expand his horizons and further develop his love for photography and design.

Isabella Lee, Broadcast Journalist

Passionate about capturing moments with her friends through her phone, Isabella Lee, a DIS senior, decides to utilize her hobby as another useful way. She highlights her school spirit as she hosts yearly events and serves as a president in multiple clubs during junior year. Isabella stands out as a dynamic individual with not only strong leadership but also great positivity. As she reaches the final steps into the last chapter of her high school career, she brings fresh insights and dedication to the field of video production.
