Following the kickoff of a sports season, DIS transitioned into a website for uniform delivery. “THERIM,” an order-streamlining webpage, shifts the manual system into a quicker online process. This partnership allows for fresh designs, hence the changes in various gear this season. Schools get to choose blueprints from its catalog or request a customized layout and put it up for sale.
Ms. Sumin Hong, the faculty and event services coordinator, who organizes every aspect of sports events and now the new website, said, “Basically, we used to just order sports uniforms from many different sports uniform companies, but Mr. Bergan and some of the high school students came up with the idea of this uniform website that works with other international schools. They said they can make our school sports uniform website and combine everything together and have it made for our own students.”
The newfound partnership expedites the process for all parties: students, parents, coaches, and faculty members. “In the past, we had to deliver all the details like sizes and designs through emails or by giving them details and sample uniforms for them to order,” Ms. Hong said. “By changing to this new company, they can now actually see the mock-up design with very specific detailed size specs. The school and the coaches and I, myself, don’t have to hassle with all that work and it saves a lot of time. Students can also go into the website and they can order it by themselves and the school doesn’t have to collect all the money and the company deals with everything.”
Within a few clicks, parents can check out uniforms in the comforts of their homes. The familiar site layout makes it approachable for everyone. “I think the website can be easily translated through Google, so it was able to be understood very easily. The website is very easy to use, you put everything in the cart just like any online store. I think it was very helpful for the kids to be able to see the uniforms before ordering them. The size chart was easy to follow, and I found it very useful as a foreign parent here in Korea,” said Ms. Ringrose, a third-grade teacher and parent of two DIS athletes.
Athletes can also easily navigate the new platform. Hans Park, a member of the high school volleyball team, said, “I think it definitely made it easier and more efficient…that really helped with the school organization and it just made it a much faster and easier process in general.”
The switch came from influences from other international schools that have been affiliated with the same company for a long time. All Jeju schools and plenty more mainland schools sell warm-up tops, uniforms, hoodies, and more. Chan Lim, a member of Korea International School of Jeju’s (KISJ) athletic team, said, “THERIM has made things more convenient by streamlining the entire design process and ordering sports uniforms, which has saved us a lot of time…We didn’t have any problems with the ordering process. THERIM made it simple for teams to create professional-looking uniforms.”
Now, THERIM has opened up to all DIS students to order outerwear. The classic hoodies and crewnecks are back with more colorways than ever. Parents can order fresh gear whenever and wherever they want.
“I think it was a great addition. I think that a lot of the kids wanted new hoodies. And I’m not saying that the ones sold by Lands End are not great, but when you try to order overseas it’s kinda difficult, so I really appreciated that this website came up with some new hoodies for our school. Hopefully, in the future, they can maybe help us with some regular school uniforms too. That would be great as well, so I think that was a great improvement,” said Ms. Ringrose.

The hole that the arm goes in is too big so I had to sew some of it to make it shorter. The uniform is too big for some people and they feel uncomfortable about it. Great article though

Honestly, I feel like the Cross Country uniform’s sleeve is way too cut off and the pants are too short. Still, overall, it’s a great article! Great job!
