Elementary schoolers gathered on the DIS soccer court for a grand field day on June 7. Under the warm sun of early summer, students tirelessly played with each other in cooperative games, such as basketball, capture the flag, sharks and minnows, indoor parachute games, and relay races. Multiple parents also visited the field day to cheer on their children.
Once the event concluded, every participant, from kindergarten to fifth graders, came out as the champions of the year. After an hour of intense excitement, exhausted students finished their day with delicious chocolate ice cream.

Elementary Field Day looks so fun! I think that it is a good idea to make elementary schoolers participate in cooperative and communicative games because it can help boost their teamwork and also social skills as well because you have to play in a team with other kids around your age. I also love how everyone is a winner so it doesn’t make anyone feel left out. Afterwards, giving the tired students ice cream is a good idea because a cold snack after a tired workout or fun games can be amazing. It also brings me back to the time when I was an elementary schooler and I used to be participating in these games as well. I can see how much has changed over time and how a few things have stayed the same.
