[Photos] Field Day sparks elementary spirits

Elementary schoolers gathered on the DIS soccer court for a grand field day on June 7. Under the warm sun of early summer, students tirelessly played with each other in cooperative games, such as basketball, capture the flag, sharks and minnows, indoor parachute games, and relay races. Multiple parents also visited the field day to cheer on their children. 

Once the event concluded, every participant, from kindergarten to fifth graders, came out as the champions of the year. After an hour of intense excitement, exhausted students finished their day with delicious chocolate ice cream.

DIS veteran Anna Yoon embarks on her final chapter of highschool as an editor for the Flyover. Through the articles she pens for the school newspaper, she provides interesting and thought-provoking sneak peeks into the lives of other people. Having already been recognized as a “Best of SNO” writer in her first year, she now turns to also help other students polish their work.

Apple, a sophomore and avid writer, returns for her second year on the Jets Flyover staff. Determined to immerse herself in all aspects of the DIS community, she participates in an array of lunch clubs and ASAs including MUN, SKAC sports, and Jets Flyover. In her leisure time, she loves to read or listen to music. You can often find her tucked away in a corner with a good show or under the covers with her nose buried in her all-time favorite novel – Pride and Prejudice.

Luna, after 13 long years, finally enters her last act as a senior at DIS. She vibes with illustration and photography, but also takes great interest in music and literature. Having been with the Flyover for over half her time here, Luna reads and spices up almost every article that gets published. As a first-year member of the Jets Flyover staff and a DIS veteran, Hailey knows the ins and outs of school events. She loves every sport including volleyball, basketball, and futsal. Through her previous experiences in winning several SKAC tournaments, she looks forward to taking active pictures. In her free time, Hailey enjoys watching movies, hanging out with her friends, and spending time with her cats. Hoping to bring a positive impact to the team, she takes the role of a photographer, designer, and editor.
