[Photos] Freshmen beat upperclassmen to win it all and eighth grade dominates the middle school league

High schoolers and teachers grin joyfully as they gather up after a tiring yet exciting field day. Each grade level shows their grade number proudly to the camera.

The DIS Amazing Race returned new and improved after multiple changes from the former field day on June 7. Students donned grade shirts (반티) and competed against each other for victory. All grades kicked off the day with a strong desire to win, but eighth graders claimed their victory among the middle schoolers while the freshmen, the underdog, emerged on top.

Throughout the day, students cheered for their classmates and competed in relay races, badminton, and silent line-ups. After an hour of games, students finished the day with the taste of delicious ice cream.

Apple, a sophomore and avid writer, returns for her second year on the Jets Flyover staff. Determined to immerse herself in all aspects of the DIS community, she participates in an array of lunch clubs and ASAs including MUN, SKAC sports, and Jets Flyover. In her leisure time, she loves to read or listen to music. You can often find her tucked away in a corner with a good show or under the covers with her nose buried in her all-time favorite novel – Pride and Prejudice.

Raina Lee returns for her second year of journalism as the Multimedia Director. She hopes to elevate the Flyover presence on and off campus and inspire budding Jets with her writing, designs, and photography. On top of her leadership role, she strives to continue writing articles across genres from opinion polls to social issues. Outside of the classroom, she vibes to music, pops by trendy shops, watches sports, and constantly looks for journalistic inspiration.
